a trip to a punkin' patch

Image
Today, Z + I met up with some of our very good friends to make a little double date goodness happen. We went to a darling little pumpkin patch in west Orem and strolled around picking our pumpkins and tossing husks of corn through wooden boards with holes cut out. It was a great time + we love the pumpkins we picked. I love getting to hang out with the Rumsey's for many reasons and obvious reasons, too. Some of those reasons include: Jenna is one of my best friends, and she is also pregnant and really cute (she was also cute when she was not pregnant), Corbin + Zach have been friends since they were in jr./high school and are so fun together (they laugh non-stop), they always show us good places to eat and great films (Troll 2, make your life better +check it out), etc. etc. We are lucky to have friends like them.  ^ okay, seriously?! How cute is this bump?!  ^ Zach + Corb as gourds   ^ I asked Z if he wanted a photo with these gia...

oh, this time of the year

Image
The change from September to October is one of the most significant changes of the year. It's when summer really changes into fall, when people put a pumpkin or two on their porch, when the leaves color change is in full swing and when Mr. White + myself are reminded of the time which we fell in love, 2 years ago now.  It was the month we told each other "I love you" + the month our relationship changed for the best, just like the leaves on the trees. Ah, how I LOVE fall! I have a feeling this fall will be extra wonderful. Especially with the White family tradition of homemade donuts on Halloween + watching Halloween movies, too. I can't wait. Bring on the cooler weather, sweaters, boots, scarves, hot chocolate, pumpkins and candy! We love you, fall! A recent event was that we got some sweet pictures taken of us by one of our favorite photographers ever, Madi Larsen, and here students. She is THE best. We love her + that she is willing to share her ta...

lunch with grandma tippetts

Image
Today we went to lunch with (Zach's) Grandma Tippetts + it was lovely. I just love Grandma Tippetts. She is so sweet and loving + on top of that I feel like we can chat with her for hours (which we kinda did today)! When we asked her out to lunch she was so excited and offered up a really awesome coupon! I was so happy she was excited because I was really excited to ask her to join us. Lunch was suuuper yummy (like homemade chicken pot pie yummy) and our company was even better. I hope we make this a monthly thing because who knows how much longer Z + I will be living so close! It was a perfect lunch + bright spot to our rainy day.

two years ago (yesterday)

Two years ago (last month), I was a Y-group leader with my good friend Courtney at BYU's Freshman New Student Orientation. We showed up on the first day of training, signed our names on one of, seriously like, 40 lists and then walked into the Varsity theater in the Wilkinson Student Center. We sat down and not much later, a handsome guy walked down the aisle saying,"Group Green 14? Is anyone Green 14?" Courtney and I were indeed wearing green 14 bracelets from that one of like a million lines we wrote our names on. We told him we were and he came and sat down next to us. From the moment he sat down next to me, I got butterflies that after 1.5 years of marriage have never gone away. We introduced ourselves and got to chatting. His name was Zach, he was from Provo and had recently returned home from a mission for our church. I was instantly smitten with this man, which was not something that happened easily for me. After a weekend of hanging out with a super cool g...

my last first day

Image
I can't even believe that I can title this post "my last first day". What the whaaaat?! I'm feeling quite a few different feelings about it, ranging from nostalgic to ecstatic. I really just can't even believe that this day is here! In fact, this day has come AND gone already. I'm taking only major classes this semester which isn't all too surprising since it's my last semester of classes; I wasn't expecting, though, to have 4 out of 6 of my classes in the same exact classroom with all four of those classes on M/W. Soooo basically I sat in the same exact seat for 4 hours straight today + probably will Wednesday too, but it's all good because it's the home stretch! I can do it! This semester I get to take my high school teaching practicum, advocacy for p.e., motor learning, exercise physiology, outdoor activities (!!! I'm super excited to take this; some things we will learn are hiking, geocaching + dutch oven cooking), adolescent ...
